Post by monkeycracks »

Anyone know how to find out how many polys are in your model in 3ds max 8?

for example: convert model to editable poly, select sub/object polygon,
ctrl-A and read values below.
Small FPS demo made using Irrlicht&NewtonDEMO

Its at very early stage but i think im crazy enough to finish it all alone.

go to File-Summary info

you'll get a detailed report of what's on your scene.

Haha.
Even easier:

Hit the number 7 on your keyboard (not the keypad)

Poly count appears in the upper left of the viewport for the selected object.

Also it stays active while your are working, selecting other things and such, until you hit 7 again.

to check the count of everything in your scene, you can go to Utilities panel, there is a counter for the entire scene. I believe there is a hotkey for that too, but I don't know what it is. (if there isn't you can always make one yourself.
go to File-Summary info

That will only give you scene information from your last save.
