IrrKlang .NET

Post by WEst »

Hi all,

I was just looking for a small sound engine for a project, I saw irrKlang and it is exactly what I'm looking for.

There is only one problem, I'm working with VB.NET 2005 on my project, so it's not possible to use the engine without creating a wrapper.

Are there any plans to create a .NET version too, or do we have to create a wrapper on our own?

I created a wrapper for IrrKlang, but i don't know if it is working with .Net. See Irrklang wrapper topics for more informations. ;)

Thx, for your information, but unfortunately the wrapper doesn't work with VB.NET, any other suggestions on this?

I think that the only solution is waiting for an IrrKlang.Net wrapper... There is an IrrLicht.Net wrapper but not IrrKlang.Net wrapper yet...

I am planning to write a n irrKlang.net wrapper, but I have to finish the linux port first. But I won't have no problem if anyone else wants to create a .NET wrapper if he is faster than me. Wouldn't be that difficult at all, btw.

IrrKlang.Net

Niko:

This is great news. You may remember me from your Blog posting as Nate asking about this exact topic. I have been using a DirectSound9 sound engine that I wrote (based off of one in DX7 that I wrote years ago that was used in 4 games). It hasn't been working the way that I wanted it, too, so I completely removed it from my project about a week ago with the intention of just putting IrrKlang.Net in whenever you release it. I am not in a hurry since the project was only started a couple of months ago. Really looking forward to this and thank you for your contributions. I know you will do extremely well in whatever direction life takes you.
