Direct3d failing in sample programs

Post by jdforce »

Hi,
Am starting with Irrlicht, and am using Dev-C++. when I compile any of the sample programs, they compile and run fine.
However, in the selection for driver, if I select a direct3d driver the program breaks. With the open gl option the program runs fine.

My system has a working directX 9.0c, and I use vavious other engines successfuly, ie: dark basic, 3impact, truevision 3d, glscene, nuclear fusion among others, so directX is working.

The program breaks so fast I can not see the message that appears in the console screen when the program breaks,

Any idea?

Thanks,

JD

The MinGW/GCC dll has no DX support, you'll have to recompile the dll !!!
Search the forum for a tutorial... ;)

I was just trying Dev-C++ but with visual studio it works perfectly. I thought it was compiled the same.

Thanks!
