Of course I could do it... but I'll just put it off with a thousand and one excuses and never get around to writing a single line of code

Does anyone think they can make an in game map editor for Irrlicht?

Able to place things in a game created, and save it when done, load up maps made in game, or a map editoring program made in Irrlicht... I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

Any amount of help for this would be appreciated. I was thinking it would be saved in .x format, but any format would be fine. I don't think anyone ever created a map in all possible formats to see which one was better.

Being able to save information in a single player game, or on a server for a large multiplayer game, is rather important.

Well, making an editor to simply place objects (enemies power-ups, etc) onto a map made in radiant or something shouldn't be too hard. The game would then just load the bsp, then load your file telling where to place all the enemies and everything. Actually making a map editor now....thats a little harder. Does Irrlicht have any functions for creating meshes from scratch? If it does this might be possible, though I think would probably take a while to create

I already have an editor made for placing objects for many 3d formats! :)

Supported formats:

X; MD2; OBJ; 3DS; WRL; some others that I don't remember.

Please ignore the 'compile' button! I was going to use that for my game's purposes but never got around to it! :P
