First I was looking for a dirctx-exporter and I found the Panda-Plugin
but I was not able to expot my files correctly -> all the parts off the mesh where centered - I tried some hours to modify the model to fix the problem but with no usefull result.
then I tried to export the mesh as a .3ds -file but there I got just a flat shading when importing the mesh in Irrlicht.
Has anyone a soution for a correct export
I have trouble exporting meshes from 3dsmax
I've noticed 3ds seems to not export welded vertice, thus no smooting.
Try the easy workaround we found:
-Install Blender (free)
-Install the best b3d python export script you can find
-Export from 3dsmax in obj format
-Import said file in blender (play with the options a bit)
-Export in b3d from there
Ofc, if you have a 3dsmax version prior to 9, shortcct the whole thig by getting b3d pipeline exporter and export directly from 3dsmax ^^
