3d model export with collisions

Post by beuser »

Hello,

I am new to Irrlicht, but was wondering if anyone could point me to some tips and tricks on exporting a model from 3d software to Irrlicht, ready for collision detection. I have no trouble exporting my models with animation from XSI as .X files and they display great using Irrlicht. I'm just not sure how to set up collision bounding boxes and all that. Should I be setting up the bounding boxes in my 3d software? Also, how do you guys import a collision model and the collision data from 3d software to Irrlicht? Which file types are common for collision detection?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

You can use any model with no extra data.... read the collision tutorial.
