I'm trying to export my model to a .x file using 3ds Max 9 and the Panda Exporter, but every time I export it, the DirectX viewer gets a bunch of errors about materials not having effects.
Are there any limitations on what the model and animation can be using? Like specific Modifiers or Texture Mapping?

Try using kwxport if you havn't already, it is a better exporter than panda I have found.
I know that panda has a lot of limitations, I don't believe it supports biped properly, I don't know about the materials either.
