Movie poster!

Post by jingquan »

Hey guys, check out my movie poster I did for my school project: http://www.orandysoftware.com/beta/aero ... oster3.jpg

I was suppose to use photoshop, but suck in 2D painting and used 3D for the character instead. :D Any critiques?

I also made a DVD keepcase print because I've got nothing better to do!

A few people were pissed off when they saw the poster, then realise it's not going to hit the big screens, haha!

Personally i would have done it slightly differently.. the edges seem too empty.. i think i'd have put the character on the right hand side, slighly clipped off the edge and made larger so it was more his torso and head on show.

But hey, not bad! The back of the DVD is cool :D

That's really slick, spoiled only slightly by the "Ridely Scott" snafu. ;)

Nice, but what's with that "Zeitlich Steuern"? This sounds rather like some automatic online translation of a sentence which probably had to do something with time control... - I think a rough translation back would be "timely steering" :-)

Nice, but does the person in the foreground have to be so blurry, or was that a design choice?

well, I like it very much.. but the proportions look kind of strange.. I guess the upper body is to "thick" -> not like he eat to much but like hes covered with somewhat like 30' of some material. everything else ist great ;)

Sorry was busy with school and I forgotten about Irrlicht forum! Thanks for your replies too. Yep, I totally copied the lord of the ring slogan, a little. I use Cinema 4D for all my 3D projects and games, quite a simple yet powerful to use.

And the "Zeitlich Steuern" "name", yes, indeed it was translated by google from a german website! I thought it seems fitting for a name, haha.

I think he looks 5 pounds overweight too, pardon my char modelling skills. :D As usual I like to apply a bloom filter for a brighter background/char contrast, and to look softer.
