Model conversion

Post by Lonesome Ducky »

Anyone know of a good, free model converter? Preferably one that converts from ms3d to b3d or any other animated mesh file. I need it because Irrlicht doesn't recognize the bones in my ms3d file I created in Misfit Model 3D

Did you try Irrlicht 1.5 beta? We've fixed some issues in the mesh loaders to recognize more recent format versions. Otherwise please upload your mesh somewhere to see what's the problem with it.

Well, it seems to work perfectly in other modelers, here is the model.

The bones are properly loaded in Irrlicht 1.5. There are no animations, though.

Yep loading works just fine in 1.5, thanks! Just one question, how can I rotate a joint in the model so the influenced vertices move with it?

Just check the Wiki entry about the new animation system. You have to change the animation mode and alter the joint's rotation IIRC.
