antialiasing settings in nvidia tray menu

Post by cr33 »

what's the difference between in-game quality settings and settings in graphics card panel... e.g. nvidia tray menu? for me 'forced' aa and anisotropic filter seem to be faster than in-game...

also(i'm a beginner), do i need to write some sort of 'antialias manager', or - just switch antialias on in some function? or maybe just put models, render scene and switch antialiasing on in nvidia menu(i mean i have it set at 2x all the time, because as i said, i disable in-game antialias...) and there shall be antialiasing?

You should allow for in-game enabling of AA, and not rely on NVidia's AA.
1. The main reason being that it is not user-friendly to ask your player to go turn on a setting in thier NVidia control panel.
2. If would be hard to describe how to turn on forced AA because most graphics cards have diffrent control panel layouts, diffrent versions, etc.
3. Not all GFX cards have such a setting in thier config.
