General noobish questions about my first demo

Post by endless_dark »

Hi all, im trying to get into Irrlicht but i'm having some troubles, so lets hope you guys can help me.
Here we go, I'm doing an easy demo, a car in the screen and will be controlled using the cursor keys. I also want to do it under openGL and make my models using Blender.

My first question is, for an animated car, the wheels must go in a separated animated mesh apart from the rest of the static parts of the car?

Second one, what 3D format should I use? I started with b3d using GaNDaLDF's b3d exporter for blender, but I'm having a lot of problems with normals, inverted faces, and materials. And i've not tried to export something animated yet.

Well, I think that's enough for the first post. Lets see if I can finish this someday.
Thank you in advance

You should export the entire car as an animated mesh. For making it move with the cursor keys, I would recommend checking out MastEventReceiver.
