Exporting Animation?

Post by Ravi08 »

Hi, firstly i know this is got nothin to with irrlicht and im sorry but tried on blender forum and noone carried so i thought maybe someone here could help.

The problem is that i hav created a simple walk cycle within blender using the armature system. The animation works fine within blender but wen i try to export it thats wen it goes wrong.

I have tried 3DS with no luck and .x file type where it will export the animation but the body is all disformed, ie the legs are facing the wrong way and r upside down.

I hav also tried other exporters ie the B3D exporter (gandaldf), also i can sent u the blend file, just leave ur email.

THANKS FOR UR HELP

Armature modifier

You have to imparent the armature to the mesh, armature modifiers don't work.
That would be illogical captain...

Yeah that should do it. Are the start and end frames of your animation set right? You can also try exporting with gandalfs B3D exporter by selecting both your armature and your character and selecting "Selected only"
in the gandalf B3D options.

Am not sure how to "SET" the start and end frames right, the way i hav done is so on the Render buttons toolbar set the Sta to 1 then End to 41.

For gandalfs B3D exporter, i downloaded it but i couldnt find the scripts folder.

PS nt sure if this will help or not but i hav installed Python 3.0 and blender doesnt notice it.

Oh by the way thanks for the help.

Did you set the scripts directory to blender/scripts? Also, python 2.5 is what Gandalf B3D needs, python has problems with backwards compatibility.

Right i got the gandaldf exporter to work by opening the script using the text editor within blender and runnin it.

But now it exports the animation but no colour.

I hav tried clickin on vertex colours on the exporter and got nothin.

And to add colour to my model i hav clicked on the little window next to "Col" under Materials in the Shading panel.

I think the way i hav added the colour is y it isnt showin on the exported version but its the only way i know how to add colour.

So far I haven't been able to get it to export color. I just do all my materials in Irredit. So I wouldn't know.

first thanks for ur help and i found a way to export colour.

First add colour like i hav done ie clicked on the little window next to "Col" under Materials in the Shading panel.

Then on the mode selection select vertex paint, then to the left of that it should say paint click that then copy from material.
