Post by Terry »

I've a scene which was build by autodesk 3ds max9,the saving output file *.max size is 40MB,.obj file exported by max size is 400Mb+,I thought it's a little bigger.I would like to know which format is suggested by irrlicht group in all kinds of 3d format?

models for games should have small triangle count.
render loop - FPS.

Making scenes in 3DMax for one time rendering is another story.

You should split all objects into individual meshes. Reuse meshes wereever possible without it looking obvious and reduce the poly count as much as possible without loosing visible quality.
That's a basic guide to creating meshes for 30fps+ realtime rendering.
Everything is possible, IF you know how.
