Non-realtime Raytracing

Post by Linkin Puck »

I want to render out the highest possible quality screenshot of my scene (shadows, reflections, etc), and I don't want to rely on the features of my graphics card, I want to use software rendering (Burning). Render time is not a problem. So I want to use raytracing.

Has anyone done this yet? Is there a good raytracing toolkit that works with Irrlicht?

Do they work with software rendering though?

I'm pretty sure XEffects doesn't, but I may have missed something in the thread.

Would there be interest if I managed to interface with something like Yafaray?
