Transparency and Lightmaps

Post by Murphz »

Hey all,

Simply put I have a b3d material with 2 channels.. ch.1 is the diffuse texture and Ch.2 is the lightmap.

I also want this texture/mesh to be slightly transparent so I drop the alpha to 70 instead of the 100 it sits at normally

When I export a mesh with these settings it gets rid of the lightmap and you cant see it.. why? and is there a way around this...

I guess this is because the lightmap materials don't have a transparency setting. So the material chosen is either transparent or using lightmaps.

Thanks Hybrid..Only solution is to write a material renderer I suppose :(

I shouldn't need to have lightmaps and transparency working together but its for a holographic track piece which looks too flat without one :) Something always pops up!

I'll report back

same problem ... I need two transparent texture layer mixed, without using shaders... Does someone succeed in implementing transparent texture with lightmap ?
