Hi everyone,
can you tell me which Field of view is returned by ICameraSceneNode::getFOV(), Horizontal or vertical or is that in irrlicht the same?

It's the vertical FOV in radians. I remember I documented that not too long ago in Irrlicht trunk ;-) (which btw. is the Irrlicht version I'd recommend using if you are a new user, download trunk from svn - it's better than 1.8 in general).
