Render to Texture 59% question

Post by etcaptor »

Hi Niko,
I saw in Development page that Render to Texture is incompleted.
I just tested this feature and it's work for me.
Wath do you plan to 100% complete? Maybe Cube mapping?

Here is one test with RTT:

But, if you think to implement Cube mapping let me to know :D

OpenGL support.

It only works with DX and software mode.

I thought, that problem is in my old ATI.

Yet, I'm still not found how to make realistic water reflection with RTT.

Yep, I love that senseless software mode. ;)

About some realistic water with RTT: I bet there are several tutorials and examples at the www, even if not especially for Irrlicht. :)

Maybe, but I don't have plans for it in the near future.

Thanks for reply Niko.
I found two ways - one based on using of shaders, and another on Opengl and Directx functions.

here are some link for dynamic cube map

At now my hardware don't support these features, so cannot can explore these exampless. So, will gonna buy a new hardware this summer.
Also there are interesting water example.

Also I found one cubemap shader example in DXSDK summer update and think that this shader can by used with Irrlicht hlsl support.
But will be very nice if Irrlicht has some additional materials for cube mapping like Paralax and normal mapping
