Irrlicht Wiki is moving! 11/5/2005 18:00 AM GMT

Post by saigumi »

The Irrlicht Wiki is moving on 11/5/2005 18:00 GMT (12:00 Noon CST) to it's new home.

The URL, http://www.irrforge.org will stay the same as I am only moving it to a new bigger/faster/strong machine.

During this time, I will lock the database so that no changes are made, back up the system, and load it on the new site and switch over the DNS records.

Over the last two weeks, I have moved all of my other sites to the new home and this is the last. If things go as smoothly as all of the others, this should only take about an hour.

After this is done, I will go over the contents of the wiki and make some updates to the front page.

Hey Sai, long time no see!

Thnx for the good news. Haven't posted any stuff lately but I've found a ton of useful info that I might upload once you unlock the DB.

Don't thank me for the content, I just let it ride on my pipe.

The people who add it should be thanked. =D

Sounds good, I hope the transfer goes well. Have fun! Also I'm not sure where your uploading it to, http://www.goldendollarhosting.com is really good I have been using them for quite sometime now and it hasn't faild once. Plus unlimited Space and Bandwidth makes it worth it.

Hey Saigumi, you need to fix your hyperlink in this post, there's an extra ',' in the link, it points to 'http://www.irrforce.org,'

Some DNS servers are slower than others. If your ISP is slow, it can take up to 24-48 hours for it to get the new DNS data replicated. Just a warning, always happened to me when I had Comcast in NJ.

I run my own DNS server, so the record has been updated.

Everything is moved and looks good. I'm going to start working on updating the main page and upgrade the mediawiki version.
