Hey anyone used physics with the irrWizard framework yet?

Got any suggestions for the best engine, I am thinking Newtons because it seems the most popular, but I have problems, just setting up and compiling the examples.

I'm using visual studio 2003 & irrlicht 1.1

HI,

thanks for the answer, but I am confused.

firstly there is no "gl.h" file in the SDK.
I tried adding this to stdafx.h in the example, and it would not compile either. (not found)

and there are no precompiled headers, what do I need to do :cry:

I know this will teach me some stuff, but do I ...

Hi,

I'm not sure those threads are the problem.

I cant see anything about missing files.

I have checked my include and library paths, and they seem ok.
I have also changed the order of the paths, but nothing will compile.

I'm sure no doubt yet another guy, who likes to comment and lecture the world on subjects he has no knowledge of.

Just curious really.

Someone mentioned in another post, it was better to go for irrlicht 1.2 instead of irrSpintz.

Ass most of the bugs and fixes have been done, and was the closest thing to a 'patched' version.

I thought 32bit stuff and terrain issues may of been looked at, or is it better to go ...

Irrlicht 1.2 terrain

Hi,

What has been fixed in 1.2 for terrains.

Reading the changes log, there is no mention of any 32bit fix or upgrade.

Even the heightmap in the example demo is 256x256 :roll:

Surely this is wrong ???

Hi,

No I have started and also using the irrWizard Framework.

I just see the point in going to 1.2, just to encounter more bugs and problems.

I meant just the better the devil you know, in that most of irrlicht 1.1 bugs are known. Even if they are not all fixed.

I do like what it offers ...

This is the point, no one can put there finger on a firm answer, and everyone is confused.

Unless someone cane give people a positive answer, than how do we know whats the best thing to do.

Better the devil you know !

Think going with 1.1 patched or irrSpintz, has got to better than moving to another 'unknown' platform yet.

So if anyone could share a patched irrlicht 1.1, or project files for irrSpintz (visual 2003) - Thanks :wink:

Is there a single working terrain demo anywhere ??

Yet again the same old inconclusive answers keep coming up.

16 bit this, 32 bit that, hack this, patch that, - heeelp !!

Sorry, don't have the time or the space to download and install another compiler.

Not even sure 2005 Express would be to happy about another existing install.

Next, I like the engine, but why waste time down the line fixing bugs and issues, and modifying a platform to incorporate changes for ...

I have a few examples, but fails to compile looking for dvector.h

I have setup the include and library folders.

But dvector.h is located in the samples folder in 'toolbox'

I have not tried the examples yet, as they are not ...
