How did you compile Audiere for Dev-C++?

Not sure if this is what you mean, but there is a dev-pak for Audiere. It can be downloaded from http://gproductions.dazart.de/index.php a group working on their own engine which compiles under Dev-Cpp.

Drop ZoE a PM, since the DevPak is not mentioned on ...

Best Physics Engine for...

A 3rd person fight game.

Given that Irrlicht works with at least 3 engines, which would be the best one for said game sort?

Or would I be best off trying to do everything myself?

Are the path's to the media correct?

I had to edit these when I compiled the program to point to the media in the dev-cpp\examples\irrlicht directory.

Don't worry, the last two are errors because the program is using an UNSIGNED integer which goes from 0 upwards. Assigning a negative number to it is a nono, but compile the program. then Run it. It should work, 'cos I get the same errors and mine runs.

Find the Audiere.lib file, copy it to your dev-cpp\lib directory.

In Project - Project Options - Parameters click on "Add library or object", browse to your dev-cpp\lib directory, find audiere.lib, double click on it.

Click on OK.

Compile and run

Do you mean that the programs do not find the media? No, Just the HTML files, I was getting confused with the techdemo which I had copied from the SDK and altered.

You are correct that this is probably well within the capabilities of most here, but I feel that it is only a small change to make ...

Great work on the devpak, but a small comment. Correct me if I am wrong, (I've been really busy installing devpaks and uninstalling devpaks, so I may be a little confused) but you place all the examples under \dev-cpp\examples\irrlicht\..., and media is \dev-cpp\examples\irrlicht\media.

However the ...

Sent.

Put it in your windows/system32 directory, or replace your old Irrlicht.dll with it. Do a search on your computer to find out where the old dll resides and replace it with this one.

Save the old dll in case this one doesn't work.

But Audiere isn't free. OpenAl is!

If you read the aggreement on the Audiere site, it is free if your program is free. If you want to sell your program you have to pay for the privilege of using Audiere.

OpenAl has no such restriction.
