You know whats really bugging me.......we only got really little amount of people actually programming some playable games...
Every day when i look at the beginners forum there are so many posts from people who have problems with their games.....but where are these game?I really like to play these little one level games with a cool new gameplay idea, but unfortunatly noone realeses their creations.....
ok the games i realesed are not that creative but i do realease some as some other people here.
In other words we should have may an extra thread where everyone can release their little games because the project announcments should actually contain irrlicht related stuff like they do now most of the time.
Ok that are my thoughts....
We're programmers. Programmers are, in their hearts, architects, and the first thing they want to do when they get to a site is to bulldoze the place flat and build something grand. We're not excited by renovation:tinkering, improving, planting flower beds.

Lots of guys in the begginers forum are just that, beginners. They get the idea to make an awesome game, they try to learn C++ and game programming all at once and they don't get very far very fast. Some of them will quit before they even get something running.
I've been toying with Irrlicht for some time, but haven't really written anything that is worthy of posting to the project announcement forums.

i've had the opposite problem. I am very comfortable with c++, but i can't make any artwork that doesnt look like total crap myself, and i have no good game ideas. coding is easy, i think _art_ is hard!
My irrlicht-based projects have gone underground for now, but if you want, check out my webcomic instead! http://brokenboomerang.net
I am making a RTS game but such a large game takes a long time to make, and so i am not annoucing anything yet as it is not complete enough to play properly. Perhaps other people are in similar situations?
I'm making a FPS, I have to do sound, graphics, levels and networking all by myself. Thats why it takes a long time.
Most hobby developers here only work alone and there fore don't have time to make a full game by themselves.
Right now, I'm making 2 games with Irrlicht but both are still very, very young. I posted something about them in the Projects section but they're too young for even an early screenshot so no one's commented on them, heh. Fortunately, I'm not a newbie in any sense of the word so expect regular updates soon...

I am also making an FPS. Its a fairly new project, but we are starting to grow, since we managed to recruit a good mapper recently. Check out this thread:
I have been on a project for some time now, but i think the idea is cursed cause its been completely wiped out from my pc thrice, and i have created a different map each time but formatting kills everything! Neways, im currently planning to get iphysics to a state where i can call it complete and then return to complete the game after which to some other project! I have a very very busy future ahead!
So there are enough people actually working on games but not showing them to me to try...
But when u r already programming your goal should be to have a "playable" version as soon as possible even it is a big game. There should be something playable every other day you work on it and not only code that is doing some background stuf....ok you have to start with that but than you should quickly produce working stuff...first off all that keeps your working and people can watch the game grow....and i really love looking at a game evolving. hehe.
anyways i want a thread where we can post this kind of stuff.

Sudi good point on having something working early on. I did have a working game, driving around a map. But I am trying irrlicht 1.2 and I am having to fix a bunch of array stuff. Tempted to go back to .14.
I agree with the new forums specific for games, apps, tools. or what ever others you can think of.
