True. And after you have used the package repository for a while then you'll probably ask "Why do I have to click setup.exe, why I cannot select the program from the list and press Install?". Every OS/Distro have their pros and cons.For instance, there is better support for older hardware, but you get anything state of the art, and it's a nitemare. The first time you tell someone they have to install kernel source, recompile the library and do all kinds of modprobe/insmod commands and the list goes on and on, they'll say, ummmm, can't I just click setup.exe???
