So far its been a solid engine, all the math and collision functions I needed I found with ease.
How were you able to use RAGE? Are you or were you a pro game dev?
Yes, I'm an X AAA C++ console escapee. My specialty is AI, Pathfinding, 3rd person cameras, but have been doing it for 15 years as a pro, so I've written almost everything at least once. Was an ameteur since I was 14, and I'm 41 now.
I've worked 116 hrs in one week once before E3 during Red Dead Revolver dev. I saw people go crazy from stress, drugs and pure lack of sleep. People getting physically violent with each other. People yelling at each other at the top of their lungs. One of my friends, who was poor in health, died making our little cowboy game.
I've never been the same since.
I do my own designs now., Art, animation and programming too. I'm a way better programmer than an artist, but I can't be stopped, and that's nice. I prefer to use better artists than myself, but sometimes the money simply isn't there, or the art isn't produced for whatever reason.
I'm surprised I still love making games. Hopefully this next one is the hit.
