To see if Irrlicht & ODE integration to my game works.
ps. I How do I create directional light?
ps. II I am not artist :(

Thanks in advance!! :D

if i am starting your demo the car is roling to the right on the top ! it seem's there is no collision detection on the roof top! for that reason the car is falling through the terrain! don't know why the car iss accelerating that hard ... how to steer the car normaly?

Well, it should look initially this, car standing on the ground: http://users.utu.fi/stkibr/roskis/racing_demo.jpg
Turn left here and there's is road. If you drive over the edge then iot starts falling. Control with arrow keys left <-> right and up.

It is weird that they only work on certain computers :?

I made small update, don't know if it helps. But luuks I messed something when integrated ode there. It seems to be fragile for time step too..

Looks good to me, the feel of the car isn't too bad at all. Only thing I would say is: Shaking camera on rough terrain isn't a good idea :)

Nice to hear that it works somehow 8)

I don't know where the camera shaking comes, it was not with my own physics system and came with ODE. But it should not be hard to smooth, or maybe ODE has some settings that help.

"at the beginning of the game i hade to accelerate and turn to the right! then the car runs like a normal one"
I changed car positition in the update, so turning left in the beginning is not required anymore :)

Hehee

I uploaded small updates.
- enabled realistic acceleration & braking. A/Z shift up/shift down. Arrow keys steer, accel & brake
- adaptive ticks_per_frame to avoid screen jumping

Do you mean source? Or SOlar Radiation and Climate Experiment?
I have the only copy of source. I am not in business so I can share them maybe. But not yet, because just now I have many things to do there.
But not much there anyway. I have 3dm/exporter for blender and 3dm loader for Irrlicht. 3dm is just ery simple mesh file, looks a lot obj file. Then there is track loader and generator and my gem is the car physics part :D Irrlicht and ode does the rest .

Nice to hear you liked it :D

GREAT! :D
The controls are really good.

You shoudl now start to work on the artistic side (add new cars, better tracks, trees, check points, other as you like...)
also you should add a wall aroud the track, so we don't fall in the void.

It's not a bug, it's a feature.
or (german)
Das ist kein bug, die Funktion ist nur noch nicht ganz implementiert :D

@StefanB:
Actually downloading. But use a skybox.

Another update. Some work with track file format this time.

Skybox, walls, braking markers, trees and other trackside objects are coming when it is time :)
