Problems exporting animated meshes(.x) ( 3dsmax 9)

Post by megaten »

Hello there,
I'm new to Irrlicht(only several tutorials away) and there was a problem I encountered when exporting animated meshes into .x format
in irrEdit the model looks like that after exporting

It seems for some reasons when exporting, the "mirrored" bones I made during modeling process are screwd up :(

Here's the settings I use when exporting

Is there a way to fix it? The model contains a lot of animation, remaking it will require a lot of time.
Thanks in advance

Whoops %)
Shouldn't have rushed with making topic, problem solved with using b3d exporter instead

It might be worth uploading a copy of the .x version so the devs can have a look at it if they think this is something they can fix.

Yes, please do. Most of us don't have access to expensive modeling software, we rely on users to upload buggy meshes so we can fix the mesh loaders.

are you using Bipeds or your own bone-heirarchy?

i myself use 3DS Bipeds to export out to .X through Panda, and my settings are exactly the same as yours except in the 3DSMax Options I don't export Dummy objects

have you tried playing with some of the other settings (eg, exporting using "Key Frames Only" instead of "sampled", etc)?
