Western Mini Golf 3D - Early Alpha Testers

Post by rrg »

This game is in early development so far but i have a video to show.

Anyone wanting to test my game is welcome to. Please post any comments good or bad. The testing is targeting on the shooting system of the player and the AI system. Just play around, see if you can mess up the AI, things like that. You will be given 4 holes so enjoy. You can also comment on the scenery around the holes too. For example if you like or dislike the buildings. Thanks to all the tester in advance if you decide to test it.

Yes, it looks great.
Will the AI have different levels of difficulty?

Oo pretty! Though I'd suggest using different colours for the players.... green is a bad idea due to the green grass and then you've got yellow and orange which are too similar!

To answer some questions.

The AI is set to one level. However the AI will decide whether to do good or bad. That way its always random and unpredictable which computer player will be better than others. If your lucky the AI could be really hard or very easy. On average it's half way between normal and hard.

I'll post some screen shots too sorry about that.

The color of the balls are not set. What i mean is the user can choose which color the ball will be. So if u don't like yellow on a computer player or yourself then you can change it to blue. There are 9 colors u can choose from: Red,Orange,Yellow, aqua, blue, purple, black, and white.

thanks so far for the comments.

Takes a page from some of the best game develloper world wide:
There is no such thing as TOO easy. Some people wants it so they barely will have to look at the screen to win an they WILL have fun. Some people want it harder. Some want to switch during play. If your AI can already accomodate multple difficulties, fine, leave a random element to it, but still implement a difficulty switcher/slider. It's minimal work for maximal gain. Low hanging fruit, easy target, etc. + you'll make people happy.
