The force is exerted through the bar, back into the handle, into your wrist, which makes the movement of going back and upwards (due to the force being applied a bit above the hand).
About the case, yeah, you can find them in the Paint isle of Home Depot, 2 cans, one black one silver/chrome Pick up a thing of tape to make nice lines too
