As i said already in my mail, thank you very much for the model.
here you can see the screenshot of the first view...
at the moment there are no trainstations or railways and the hole game plays in europe...
but this was only a test how to detect the countries excatly....
Bo have done a nice concept how you can do this.....

and of course animations are always welcome
i'm looking forward to receive your mail
@arras
yes march is d-day....but don't hurry.....we have enough coding work at the moment
bye the way, I don't know howe you solved problem with those countries but I would sugest make them nodes with pointers to neighbor ones.
Lets say you would have class containing x,z coordinates of country (point where you would place soldier ...middle of the country for example), ownership state (federate/confederate/neutral), some other info like country walue etc...
then there would be pointers to nodes accesible directly from that country (neighbor ones). Sort of linked list ...or better say linked network.
That looks really cool...only thing I have to say is...are you using a .jpg for that map texture? it looks really lossey compared to the avatars you are using.
I would suggest a nonlossey format if possible.
If you don't have the original image I could always use what you do have as a template and remake it for you. I just realy dont like the way that map looks compared to the rest of the game.

thank you for your suggestion, but jpeg is meant, it should look like a old board , on a table .....a pencil or a cigaret on the side woud also create a nice impression i think..
