There are no Texstures in the 2nd example

Post by Noldo »

The 2nd exapmle compiles fine and all but there are no textures. Just gray and white.

The console is full of errors similar to there

Warning: Could not find texture in Q3 .bsp:textures/common/caulk
Warning: Could not find texture in Q3 .bsp:noshader
Warning: Could not find texture in Q3 .bsp:textures/common/clip
Warning: Could not find texture in Q3 .bsp:textures/liquids/lavahell
Warning: Could not find texture in Q3 .bsp:textures/gothic_trim/metalblackwave01

I'm using Irrlicht in Debian GNU/Linux with KDE desktop and Nvidia Geforce 4400ti as the graphics adapter.

Thanks in advace for any advice or insight in this area.

I started experimenting with a model made by my cousin and it seems that .bmp textures work fine but .jpg:s don't. Didn't have time to test any others but it seems that what ever format the quakemap uses isn't working either.

It isn't (or shouldn't be ) a driver problem because without the right driver xserver fails to start and I get no graphics what so ever.

I'll start testing the other texture formats as soon as possible.

since you are in linux: did you compile the Irrlicht engine yourself?

perhaps only the libJPG or other image loading modules arent working?

Solved by upgrading to 0.4.2

Post by Noldo »

I have no idea about the exact reason why but everything seems to work fine after unpacking and compiling 0.4.2. I Didn't bother to try without compiling.

Now I can finally get to work. Thanks to everyone involved for their help and to the Great Makers for this engine.
