1st Test Release

Here is the first release: ( below, it has 19.5 mb)

PLEASE test it ! And tell me if it is working fine on your machine. This is the meaning of this release.

Please note THAT:

- it is a test release, not meant to 'have fun & play' - because it have very early status

- for keys see keylist.cfg in base folder (to shoot use space, mouse is bugged atm, also there are 3 weapons atm -> 1, 2, 3 keys, reload is R )

- console commands: (press tilde ~ key in game)

* hide q3node <- hides displayed level geometry
* show q3node <- makes visible a hided level
* set_playerhealth max <- sets your health to max
* quit <- exit to windows

- requires Windows XP and 500 mhz machine to play or even lower ;) (I try to be really low poly)

Welcome all again, as usually it's time to show some brand new stuff (lol) !

Few people remember when I announced LOTR then Journals of Celriech. LOTR is no longer continued and Journals of Celriech is continued (from time to time) - that is because I started to continue my main project: DooM Quentin.

But this time(u remember the last doomq omg it was a diseaster):

- I'm not such a n00b anymore :P

- It is not a remake it contains new story and new content

- It doesn't have any commercial stuff from Id and models from Doom 3 or such

- Models are made by me they are not 'stealed' anymore lol (Please note that most concept is related with Doom 3, but I made all of those in milkshape ; Please note that few models are free from the net but with my updates and of course changed textures)

And it's finally a game with an alpha status :)

Doom Quentin

Story takes place on Mars on the opposite side of planet than in Doom 3.
Story takes place in Jupiter also in over the half of the game.

Plot is simple and doom-like but I want to make this game quite dark and scary - not an 'shoot'n'slash' fps like Doom 3. (I found the game classical not a horror type)

It uses Irrlicht engine and newest audiere , I will consider if Newton would be really needed. (there is some stuff already finished with irr physics so maybe it wouldnt be necessary , .bsp work very well with irrlicht physics)

It is much better because it already contains:

- my first .bsp level (that is why I'm so excited :P)

- 3 weapons in alpha version are avaible in the moment; with full animations support (reload, equip, shoot, idle) - all done by me

- 2 enemy types fully done (zombie maintenance, imp) with more done in 3d but need to be finished with setting up their attributes in c++ ;) - free models but updated a lot by me

- special effects like decals, muzzle flash, smoke from gunpipe done, now explosions are prepared already to be just put into the source

- a very simple console system with commands avaible and working in 100%

- door system class which is the first entity you meet in the game's first level (fully working, tested many times)

Well done dawsw you never get tired dont you of making new stuff :D

i would be happy to see a demo quick (i wanted to see the journal project in action)

Come on release the project with HDR its so exciting to see the pics
(console looks pretty cool with add health commands and other cheats)

once again release it soon or ill have to black mail you with the old doomQ

about doom: i get scared easily so i enjoy killing humans( more comfortable with that :roll: ) than killing aliens and creepy stuff.

Thanks a lot Omaremad. As always you comment my work so positively :P

In the first post from now you are avaible to download and then play the 'alpha' version - it still have lots of bugs of course and only one level with one enemy type (I have imps on other unfinished maps because this map is maintenance halls and I dont want to have imps so quickly in action)

Also it is NOT using newton atm. But I've decided that newton is a must, and I will transfer my newton camera controller from celriech into Doom.

Besides newton rocks :P

PS Atm it is really amateur and starting stuff, If everything works great I should release a patch tomorrow with newton physics on board.

Omaremad also I forgot to mention about HDR.

Actually in Celriech it was looking great (working hardly XD but at what quality of graphics...), but the problem is that I've installed newest graphics drivers for my geforce fx 5200 (as I remember you are using same video card ?) - I have now forceware 84.43 (I think they are beta), but it happened even on earlier forceware that I could see only black screen when using your shaders.

If you had done some updates it would be great to know :D

Because I wonder how this Doom thing would look with your shader effects ;)

Hey dawasw! nice project! :D It's one of the most "serious" attempts I've seen to create a game with the engine lately.
You've developed a lot of interesting things there. Triple kudos! Keep us updated.

Ok I can't stand it, I'm gonna show what I'm really developing all the time.

I was making UI all the time and writing scripts for level up, then attributes gains etc. ...

It is called World of Talinor and won't use any 'righted' content. (like LOTR <- with lord of the rings stuff and such)

Here is a very fast, simpliest map I could make to not waste time on such things; please note all that it is not a final and proper one, there are few minor things to patch:

If you have any models in md2/ms3d related a bit with Fantasy and Role-Playing please contact me to add your own monster and write your demands - what effects it should make to player etc. (but it will take from few days to 2 weeks to fully update your creature with the world)

And models can be really simple Low Poly - just everything you got what you think is cool. (but no Terrorists or Big Planes plz :P)

I think I forgot to mention that it is Hack'n'Slash game so I really need your help with creatures to make thousands of beasts.

I'm also thinking about Afecelis boss in Nightblue Cloack.
