Irrlicht Engine - A free open source 3D engine

Welcome to the Irrlicht Engine

The Irrlicht Engine is an open source realtime 3D engine written in C++. It is cross-platform, using D3D, OpenGL and its own software renderers. OpenGL-ES2 and WebGL renderers are also in development. It is a stable library which has been worked on for nearly 2 decades. We've got a huge community and Irrlicht is used by hobbyists and professional companies alike. You can find enhancements for it all over the web, like alternative terrain renderers, portal renderers, exporters, world layers, tutorials, editors, language bindings and so on. And best of all: It's completely free.

Irrlicht 1.7.3 released!

We just released Irrlicht version 1.7.3. This version contains numerous bug fixes and will hopefully be the last update before 1.8.

All users which are using an 1.7 Irrlicht version should update to this version for the best experience. See changes.txt in the SDK for a complete list of changes.

Happy downloading!

New website!

Irrlicht’s website is now powered by WordPress, which means we don’t need to edit the raw HTML each time someone (usually Christian or Niko) posts a news update. Now that any of the devs can post news and edit pages without risk of destroying the site, you should see lots more news updates!

You can now use a feed reader to keep an eye on Irrlicht releases and/or news, and chat with the team and other users right here on the site.

Enjoy!
