Splashing water is probably done using a small particle emitter at the point where the water splashes. If you want to do it this way, then yes Irrlicht does do it.

I've never played Worms, so I'm not exactly sure what you're doing, but here's an idea. When the ground gets eaten, place a bitmap at the location it was eaten and place the location of the eaten section in an array. If the worm attempts to eat again, check through the array to see if there is alrea...

It may be because it's a lower quality onboard card on the notebook. Try DirectX to see if the image quality changes on the notebook.

My top 3: Half-Life. The first 3D FPS game I ever bought. I've beaten that game 7 or 8 times. Counter-Strike. My god I was addicted to this game. I played it 12-16 hours a day when I was fully into it. World of Warcraft. This game almost ruined my marriage. I would get home at 5:00 pm and play until...

I remember making a short film using Half Life, and what Half Life did to allow you to do it is it stopped the timer, created a screenshot, then animated for a frame and created another screenshot. It produced 30 fps films without any problems because it split 1 second of animation into 30 frames, s...

If just display the FPS in the caption bar or somewhere in the window so you can see if there's a difference between the resolutions. If there is (and there probably is) then that's your problem. You should have it update over a specific amount of time, rather than every frame anyway. Consistancy is...

You're using a pretty old video card there, but if it's working in D3D I don't know why it wouldn't work in OGL.

I'm on a laptop, so it probably is the screen resolution that's causing problems. You should probably set it to try several resolutions, like your standard, then another one smaller just incase the device isn't created.

Your new demo crashes on me. It says it can't create a D3D9 device and errors out.

As much as I like religious debates, this one is getting a bit out of hand. Not all muslims are terrorists, but some are. Same goes for any religion. Even Christians went rogue and started the Crusade. You can't stereotype anybody because of a specific religion. What religion you believe in depends ...

For me there's a huge difference in performance between OpenGL and D3D (D3D is about 5 times faster) but it's just my video card.

All I had to read was the fact that they got 3000 fps, and photo-realistic lighting inside a small dark room, with no lights on to understand it was a joke. Although combining the projects would be cool (tons more community and dedicated developers), I like this community the way it is and the devel...
