Really I just check the forums once or twice a month. I started out truly programming with Irrlicht, and just like to check back on it's progress and the various ways it's being used :)

New Question

Thank you for the asistiance Asterisk Man :D Though now I have one more question, so without starting another topic and taking up space, here goes. On my sky-boxes, when the view gets to much of an angle at all, the textures strech out. If you look in the example below at the planet, you'll see it's...

StuCollier, I still use Blitz3D a little bit, and I have to say you can't go wrong with using it. The speed of it is amazing and the ease of programing is something that leaves other engines in the dust. The only downside to Blitz3D is that most of the effect have to be faked, though this does not e...

Blended Skies?

I have just recently started up with Irrlicht again, and was wondering if it could produce the same effect of what I was doing in Blitz3D... Basicly I was taking two sky-boxes and blending the second one with the first, while changing some paramaters on the second to make some really spiffy effects,...

I'm wondering, is it a special entity thats applied to the geometry before it's compiled into the bsp? I've never worked with curved surfaces before, so I'm sorta at a loss of how to implament them into the level...

Here's another one, it would be spiffy if someone with the know-how merged this with Irrlicht

the best part of using 3ds, obj, ms3d, bsp, and md2 is that there is alot of stuff freely availible including tutorials so the learning curve for the engine is less :D Though I beleave to use the bsp or md2 formats you have to pay ID Software licensing fee's, I'm not sure though :? Can anyone clear...

I have yet to be able to get shadows to work in any of my projects or the examples for that matter. I have tried using both the DT_DIRECTX8 and the DT_OPENGL drivers, I have come to beleave that it might be my computer - P3 550, 512Mb DDR Ram, GeForce2 MX200 64Mb - that keeps the shadows from workin...

I have tried converting the model from .3ds over to .md2 but I'm still not being able to see my model. I have even tried loading up a .bsp file, but to no avail :(
