Instead of i++ loops, I would use sleep() - it will suspend current thread, giving more cpu to others, however, please be noted, you will suspend any input event handlers too....

But what is the real "issue" except of increased fan speed (which is normal for graphic application) ?

Memory during mesh reassignments

Hello.
Is it ok (regarding to safe memory reallocation) to use code below ?

Code: Select all

  IAnimatedMesh* mesh
  //.....
  IMeshManipulator* mm = SceneManager->getMeshManipulator();
  mesh = mm->createAnimatedMesh( mm->createMeshWith2TCoords(mesh) );
Will it lead to any memory leaks ?

I believe this is not Irrlicht bug. Looks like video card/driver issues.
I had similar problems on overheating (under load) videocard.
Try another hardware.

Controller ... it is a joystick device (stick, flight yoke, wheel, gamepad ... anything that's visible in Windows-control panel-game controllers). Min 4 analog axes controller device is a requirement. Sequence is simple, open it, try to load scene and BSoD. Hope this give you some info :D Thanks, ho...

Instant BSoD when tried to play it :shock: I'm sorry, but just in case we want to go any farther some more info like - OS - Controller - Video - Error triggering sequence would help. I know there are bugs. It is still alpha. And current release is just a preliminary test of some new features. I alr...

RCM::Heli - radio controlled helicopter model simulator

Hello everyone. I'm just introducing myself with my current project - RCM::Heli. RC (radio controlled aka remote controlled) helicopter model simulator. The project is not a game, its purpose to help RL model owners to improve their flying skills (and gain preliminary ones for beginners). Electric p...

Great. Could you also add planes? That would be perfect. Unfortunately antivir sais that your program is a virus. Is it still save to use it? Fixed wing aircrafts are planned, but not top-priority. I have posted a thread in Project Announcements http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?...

@sash: is there any possibility to get your simulator? Yes. Although the project is not open-source, it is freely downloadable. Currently I'm finishing next release. As soon (I hope it will be a week) as I get it done, I'll post a message here, in project announcements) with link to my site and dow...

Shadows

It would be nice to see some shadows improvements. p.s. GUI. Personally I don't see any urgent needs for GUI modifications. There are a couple of use options already: dispatching method or class, chained or derived event receivers etc. It's rather a matter of some particular application logic. What ...

If anyone in the team has made a whole game before, they should design the game engine. Absolutely! I believe for a startup lead programmer should not be responsible for svn and reports, but for the core - a game engine including graphics, physics and network (we're about MOG) put together. If you ...

Still unclear what is a player's goal, and which genre of game it will be ? A simulator, a racing arcade, drive-shooter? And please, do not take it as "negative" feedback, but I'd rather reconsider the setting: during the (post-)war times societies and states is concentrated mostly on food...

Very impressive, indeed. Please choose one of your pics for submission, though, as we only allow one shot per project each month! Ok.Sorry. Let's it be this (second) one : http://rcsim.narod.ru/screenshots/rcsim002.jpg Should I update my initial post? Or please, do it yourself to follow requirement...
