Hi BlindSide,

I just added Visual Leak Detector to my project and it detects two memory leaks in your code.

You create these two callbacks without deleting them.
depthMC = new DepthShaderCB(this);
shadowMC = new ShadowShaderCB(this);

So I added these two lines at the end of the destructor

Hey fmx, thanks for playing.

You are right, we were kind of overwhelmed with the scope of the project so actually making it fun kind of fell by the wayside ;) That is definitly something I will look out for on the next project.

But, while answering to Tihtinen, specifically regarding the "jumps ...

Thanks for your comments. Let's go through them :)

First of all it would have been great to have some kind of on-screen GUI about health and ammo that I have left.

Since this game was required to run in stereo 3d (and a 2d hud can mess with stereo 3d easily), we decided not to use a hud but ...

:oops: Oh boy this is a dumb one.
The objects are loaded from a xml file which also stores the materialId.
With XEffects my custom materials now get new materialIds and therefore the old ones in the xml do not point to the correct material anymore.

For the level I iterate over all custom materials ...

Hi everyone,

I am trying to integrate XEffects to my project but having some troubles with my custom materials. I've read several pages from this post and came to the understanding that XEffects isn't supposed to mess with my materials but simply add the shadows "on top".

My materials are removed ...

:oops: It does exist. Sorry I must have skipped it in the API.

Just for anyone who may have the same problem, this is the working code

Code: Select all

Env::Driver->enableMaterial2D();
Env::Driver->getMaterial2D().ColorMask = video::ECP_RED;

2d Anaglyph

Hi everyone,

I wanted to do some anaglyph effects with 2d shapes. In 3d I would simply set the override material like this
Env::Driver->getOverrideMaterial().Material.ColorMask = video::ECP_RED;

But this doesn't seem to affect 2d drawing methods like draw2DRectangle.
Is there a way to do the ...

Hey everyone, thank you for your feedback.

i'm just curious, did you manually paint the lighting (red light) or did you use light maps?
We rendered a lightmap in 3dsmax and exported it on a second mesh. Then we loaded both meshes and combined them in a new SMesh with multiple SMeshBufferLightMap ...

Very true, the current state is missing particles. We are working on adding them at the moment. This video was made with the build we presented at the end of the semester. There are a few things lacking we'd like to add before releasing the binary :-)

But thank you for your compliments.

At first I ...
