i suggest you use 3d editor you are familiar with and create scenes from that. irrlicht supports so many file formats and you can save and load. no need for quake map

i find irredit very easy to use, specially lightmapping, compared to other SW where there are so many steps. and .irr created can automatically be loaded in irrlicht.

Irredit 1.5 doesn't seem to be saving my models as relative paths. If I look at the console window after calling loadScene(); it shows all my paths as absolute paths. Does this mean that they're all absolute? or does it mean that they are paths put together by the program when loadScene(); is ...

most probably the size of the scene and size of ur ellipsis collision does not match. or the initial location of ur camera is wrong

i think there is no ai engine for fish. mostly ai for path finding in strategies or something like that

I loaded a 3DS model from a folder. Then i saved a scene in .irr file. Now if i remove the model folder to some other directory and then reload the scene, the Irrlicht fails to read the scene from the disk indicating the path error. This implies that only the path of the mesh or the model is stored ...

1. yes, swapping will hit ur performance very hard
2. yeah, that factor of 5 is incorrect.... texture is stored uncompressed in mem

i think rotation is not cumulative. so do something like add say 5 degrees every keydown.

yes, it is possible to achieve good looks. u just need great art assets and also shaders. and also some additional code of cours would greatly help
