Yes, and I tried adding a button that opens a file selection dialog to that program and I still run into the same error. I.e. whenever you browse to a directory containing images and it attempts to load the preview for an image you get a segmentation fault. If you'd like to see exactly what I did, I...

Irrlicht + Qt QFileDialog can cause a segmentation fault

I'm not quite sure if this is a bug with Qt or Irrlicht but I've had a strange problem when using file selection dialogs in a Qt application with an Irrlicht widget. I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 (64 bit) and I used the code from this site: http://www.matrix44.net/blog/?p=389 (also available somewhere on...

The top things I'd like to see in Irrlicht 1.8 are specular mapping, HDR rendering, decals, and post process effects like colour balance, bloom, motion blur, etc. I know most of those things I listed aren't too tricky to implement yourself as long as you know a bit about shaders, but it would be rea...

I've run into a bit of trouble compiling this on Linux. First, I had to edit the search directories in the Code::Blocks project to match where the files are stored on my system, then I had to rename every instance of <Irrlicht.h> to <irrlicht.h> and then I added tecan's modifications to osClock.cpp....

I just tried this out with Irrlicht 1.6 and ran into some problems compiling. Anyone else who can't compile the examples with Irrlicht 1.6, just change rt0 = driver->createRenderTargetTexture(core::dimension2d<s32>(sizeW,sizeH)); Material.Wireframe = false; Material.Lighting = false; Material.Textur...

Load sound files from .zip

Hi I was just wondering if anyone knows how to load OpenAL sound files from a .zip archive. I already know how to use .zip archives in Irrlicht with device->getFileSystem()->addZipFileArchive("somezipfile.zip") but unfortunately this only works for files used by Irrlicht such as 3d models,...

You might want to have a look on Ubuntu Forums for a solution to that problem you have with turning the computer off. Also, for some reason the import/export scripts included in the version of Blender in the Ubuntu repositories don't work (at least on my computer) but they do work if I install Blend...

Wow, I'm really impressed that you could go from not knowing C++ or Irrlicht to making a RTS game in just two months. Already the screanshots are looking pretty good :-)

I have to agree with the others, that isn't a particulally attractive prize.

I might still enter something anyway though.
