Hi Guys,

I've just added the file 3D Ace mentioned, TRAOD2.zip up onto the project page. http://sourceforge.net/projects/irrwizard/

This is a 3rd person action type game that uses scripting that may or may not be of any use to anyone. As usual this is in a very unfinished state.

I havn't modified it to be compatible with Irrlicht 1.3 yet. You can try it out with Irrlicht 1.2 if you like.

You need to create a 'device' first, you have cut too much code out of the 'Hello World' tutorial.

I would copy the code verbaitim until you can get it to compile, then play around with it.

The Irrlicht 'Demo' that comes with the SDK has examples of ray tracing and smoke on walls. (also see tutorial 7 for scenenode picking & collision)

If you want a weapon manager, sort of like Quake that changes weapons when you roll the mouse wheel, then IrrWizard has one, you can have a look at the ...

@veegun Unless I can get hold of DarkChrono, I think scripting would more realistically be in 1.3.

@arnir Looks like the version of Irrlicht you're using doesn't like your graphic card. I can't really be that much help other than to advise you to first try changing the driver in the config.xml to ...

OK, cool.

Thanks for the feedback, the scripting didnt make it in this release, I thought I removed all references. So sorry for that.

In fact I can't get hold of Dark Chrono who is working on it, hopfully he will make an appearance as I think he's 90-95% completed it.

I dont have any suggestions at present as this has been tested using Dev C++ prior to release.

I will investigate on other machines, I guess you are using Dev C++ 4.9.9.2.

The work around will be to manualy create the Dev C++ project file and then add the source files.

IrrWizard 1.2 now released!

This is basicaly the latest from the CVS, and can be considered a minor release, here are the following changes:


Compatability with Irrlicht 1.2

I had the same problem with .3ds meshes using Irrlicht-1.1 for the first time, dropped back to Irrlicht-1.0 and it was fine, you can try that. (then you'll be 2 versions behind like me, lol)

I use .X files for everything, had a nasty clipping bug in Irrlicht-1.1 which is the main reason I havn't ...

I would like to help, but can't get near a compiler anytime soon, working away at the moment.

In the short term I would just put an if(node) condition around the code that crashes, then it shouldnt crash. Only thing is the explosions wont happen on the terrain.

Im sure the terrain should return a ...

All you need to do for that one is to put the Irrlicht.dll in your main project folder, the one with the .exe in

Also make sure it's the same version you compiled your source from, ie 1.1 or whatever. And that it's the Visual studio version of the dll, not the Dev C++ one

Yeah, that's Ok.

You just need to change the path to that file in your project settings:

Project->properties->linker->input Addional Dependencies

Then where you see the D:\Projects\DirectX\MyGame\Irrlicht\blah\blah\blah\fmodex_vc.lib

Put the path to were it is on your hard drive: C:\myProject ...
