Hi, Correct my if im wrong,

FREEWORLD is a good apps, I downloaded the FREEWORLD demo,
and since we cannot save a file from the demo version,
I cannot tell if file can be loaded easisy directly to irrlicht.

Well Irrlicht's geomipmapping code was taken directly from my Freeworld3D SDK. Spintz simply adapted my code to work with Irrlicht. So yes, you can load the terrain directly into Irrlicht.

As for other support, Irrlicht supports the Direct .X mesh format and Freeworld can load that in as well ...

Does the file format produce by FreeWorld can be
load to irrlicht?

The exported data is in XML or ASCII format and is very easy to read in. All the exported data consists of is things like mesh positions, skybox, skydome, skyplane information, water, fog, lighting info, ect....

Well the popping is not really causes by vertices jumping to a new position, its caused by vertices being "taken out". That's what causes the popping. In order to reduce the effect, you would need to base the decision of which LOD to use for a given patch based on a screen space error formula.

My heightmap is 65*513. Works fine.

Any news on a editor for heightmap "ingame"? IE some way to access the pixels in the actual image, change'em and then update the terrainNode?
